Cylindrical glass beads 'twist pattern'
On February 19, 2019,our full moon graced us in its perigee - the point in its orbit where it is closest to earth. What emerged was a moon so large, so bright, it stunned us all in its beauteous splendor. Claire Kahn, mesmerized by its lustrous glory, recounts, "The moon rose during the afternoon. I saw it in a blue and gray sky and again on the 20th as it set over the Jemez Mountains." While she laments that it was less dramatic as the blood moon the month before, there was a stunning presenceborn from its quiet contrast in the sky. Amongst the wintry atmosphere graced upon Northern New Mexico this year, the Snow Moon rose perfectly in the icy white and blue.
Creating palpableexpression from what she observes, Kahn skillfully translates the experience into a vision of color and progression. Illustrating her experience gazing upon thesnow moon, she navigates her narrative through patterns of white, pale blue, gray blue, gray and white. As exquisite as the surprise of the moon in its brilliance, a glimmer of metallic scored beads carves its way through Kahn's twisted progression, leaving a subtle sparkle in its path. An impeccable piece to behold, express the many colors of the snow moon to the fullest measureof your desire.
